Matt McGinnis  - Head Coach  - 2012 Team
Matt McGinnis became Salisbury University's Associate Athletic Director in August of 2008. McGinnis (Class of 1997) enters his third year at his Alma Mater as Associate Athletic Director. In his first year with the SU athletics department, the Sea Gulls won 10 Capital Athletic Conference Championships, placed 137 student-athletes on the CAC Academic Team and 32 SU football players earned Atlantic Central Football Conference academic honors.

Prior to his position with Salisbury, he spent four years as the head men's lacrosse coach at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He served as an assistant coach along side SU men's lacrosse coach Jim Berkman for the 2002 and 2003 seasons. In his final year with the Sea Gulls on the sideline McGinnis helped SU win its fourth national championship.

The next season he served as an assistant coach with the Gettysburg College men's lacrosse program before heading west to Denison. McGinnis compiled a record of 35-13 in three seasons with the Big Red which includes three appearances in the NCAA tournament and two North Coast Athletic Conference championships. Last season, Denison went 14-3 and finished the year ranked No. 12 in the country. The 14 wins are the most by a Big Red squad since the 1982 season. McGinnis earned NCAC Coach of the Year honors in 2008. Denison was nationally ranked for its defense and goalie Alex Baruch took home Division III Goalie of the Year honor. McGinnis was the sixth head coach of the Denison men's lacrosse program in its over 50-year history. He served as an assistant coach during the 2005 season.


Ben Sandlin  - Assistant Coach  - 2012 Team
Ben Sandlin joins the Greene Turtle coaching staff for the summer of 2011 with great experience as a player and as a coach.  Ben is currently the defensive coordinator at Salisbury University as he enters his third year as a member of the Sea Gulls staff.  Over the last two years Ben has served as a graduate assistant under NCAA's all time winningest coach Jim Berkman.  His role at Sailsbury University has included being the "Box Coach", Recruiting Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, as well running daily office operations.  In his coaching tenure at Salisbury University Ben has also co-presented twice at the US National Lacrosse convention and the International Mens Collegiate Lacrosse Association convention.  Ben also has great experience working at the high school level through personal lessons as well as being Camp Director of Shore Thing Lax Camp and Camp Odysseys Developmental Lacrosse Clinics.
 
As a player Ben played close defense at Salisbury University where he finished with a career record of 84-1.  In that time Ben captured 3 National Championships (2005,2007,2008), 4 CAC Championships, and appeared in 4 National Championship games.  Ben was selected as a first team CAC player in 2008 and was named the teams Defensive MVP.  In 2008 he was also selected as a First Team All American, as well as a Academic All-American.
 
Ben is originally from Magnolia, DE where he played at Caesar Rodney earning First Team All-State honors.  He currently resides in Salisbury, MD where he is a physical educator at Delmar Elementary School in Wicomico County.

Jake DeLillo  - Assistant Coach  - 2012 Team

Jake DeLillo joins the Greene Turtle lacrosse team with great experience from the college level. DeLillo played attack at Salisbury University and lettered for three years of his career.  DeLillo is the bearer of 1 National Title (2008) and has appeared in 2 National Title games. 2009 he earned CAC all-Academic Team. He had also earned All-America Honorable mention in 2010. 

DeLillo graduated from Salisbury University in the spring of 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  He is currently an elementary school teacher at East Salisbury Elementary.  Jake is originally from Westchester, NY.

 

Connor Burgasser  - 2012 Team
Connor Burgasser joins the Greene Turtle lacrosse team with great experience from the college level.  Burgasser played long-stick midfield at Salisbury University and lettered all four years of his career.  Burgasser is the bearer of 2 National Titles (2007-08) and has appeared in 3 National Title games.  He lead the Sea Gulls from 2008 to 2010 in take aways and earned 1st Team CAC honors in 2008 and 2010.  In 2010 he was awarded the Charles Clark Cup Award and was garnished with 2nd Team All American honors as well as being an Academic All American. 
 
Burgasser graduated from Salisbury University in the spring of 2010 with a bachelors degree in Physical Education.  He is currently an assistant coach for the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team under Jim Berkman.  He is also currently pursuing his master's degree in Public School Administration.  Connor is originally from Rochester, NY.
